To reach higher levels than that, the company most have done serious work with CMM to reach those levels, so the question is if it's just empty words? Between 1-3 there are huge differences and it's easy to see how they really could improve the workings of a company, but after that? I'm sceptic. And yes, it is a great book and a suitable summer reading. As I recall, most companies are at level 1, with only a few reaching level 2 and 3. One of the course books for TDDB02 is Software Metrics - A Rigorous and Practical Approach. I have no idea if it's any good, but that sounds like an awesome title at least!
